The inclusion of counseling services in our MAT program is critical. It offers individuals the opportunity to work through the underlying issues that may have contributed to their addiction, equipping them with the coping strategies needed to navigate challenges post-recovery.
At Homes4Hope Therapeutic Solutions, we are committed to providing a supportive, stigma-free environment where individuals can feel safe and supported throughout their recovery journey. Our goal is to empower each person who walks through our doors, helping them reclaim their lives from opioid use disorder.
An Overview of Our MAT Program
The MAT program is available for clients with moderate to severe substance use disorders. Our staff will guide them through the different processes for every patient, starting with an initial consultation to determine the plan of care for the individual. Clients must be enrolled in outpatient SUD with us and see our provider at designated times. There is no waitlist; the client can request a same-day assessment.
In treating chronic conditions, the collaboration between the prescriber and the clinician is important. With valuable input from the client, this partnership ensures that the treatment plan, particularly concerning medication-assisted treatment (MAT), is highly personalized.
Recognizing that each individual’s needs are unique, the type of medication and its dosing are carefully considered and thoroughly discussed with the provider before commencing MAT. This meticulous planning and open communication are fundamental to tailoring a treatment regimen that not only effectively addresses the condition but also aligns with the client’s specific health requirements and lifestyle.
Our MAT program includes:
- Medication Management With FDA-Approved Medications (Buprenorphine/Naltrexone)
- Individual and Group Counseling
- Case Management
- Peer Support
- Substance Use Disorder Counseling
- Mental Health Counseling
- Family Counseling
We believe that MAT can be a life-saving intervention for individuals struggling with opioid addiction. The best practice is to couple treatment with medication to sustain abstinence from alcohol or opiates. Like any other chronic disease, you may be on medication for a short period or longer duration, depending on your personal goals and whether you can continue to remain abstinent without the medication.

The Medications We Use

Sublocade
Sublocade® (buprenorphine extended-release) injection for subcutaneous use (CIII) is a prescription medication used to treat adults with moderate to severe addiction (dependence) to opioid drugs, whether prescription or illegal.
It is administered as a monthly injection, with a 2-week window to receive the next shot without experiencing cravings. The medication gradually releases buprenorphine at a controlled rate throughout the month, delivering it at sustained levels.
When the buprenorphine in Sublocade attaches to opioid receptors in the brain, it reduces the likelihood of other opioids attaching. This ensures a continuous delivery of buprenorphine throughout the month.
In a 12-week study of 39 non-treatment-seeking adults, Sublocade was found to block the rewarding effects of opioids, and in a 24-week study, treatment success was defined as being opioid-free for at least 80% of the treatment weeks. Sublocade clients were 14 times more likely to achieve treatment success.

Vivitrol
Vivitrol is a prescription medication administered through injections, specifically designed to address two major dependencies: alcohol and opioids. It serves a crucial role in the treatment of alcohol dependence, with a vital prerequisite that individuals must cease alcohol consumption prior to beginning their Vivitrol treatment. This precondition underscores the medication’s function in supporting recovery efforts by mitigating the urge to drink, thereby facilitating a smoother transition toward sobriety.
Furthermore, Vivitrol extends its therapeutic benefits to individuals recovering from opioid dependence. In the delicate phase following opioid detoxification, the risk of relapse looms large, posing a significant challenge to sustained recovery. Vivitrol acts as a preventive measure during this vulnerable period, helping to curb the craving and potential relapse back into opioid use. Its role in the recovery process is thus dual-faceted, providing a critical support system for individuals navigating the complex journey away from alcohol and opioid dependence.
By offering a medically assisted approach to tackle these dependencies, Vivitrol represents a viable path to long term recovery for many.It underscores the importance of medical intervention in the recovery process, reaffirming the possibility of reclaiming control and embarking on a path toward lasting sobriety and health.

Suboxone
Suboxone is a medication that comprises two drugs: buprenorphine and naloxone. This combination is specifically designed to tackle challenges associated with opioid dependence, offering a dual approach to treatment. Buprenorphine functions as a partial opioid agonist. It binds to the same receptors in the brain as other opioids, but it produces a much weaker effect.
This characteristic helps to alleviate cravings and withdrawal symptoms without providing the full opioid effect, thereby reducing the risk of misuse. On the other hand, naloxone is an opioid antagonist. It blocks the effects of opioids at their receptor sites in the brain and can quickly reverse an opioid overdose if it occurs.
However, when taken as prescribed, naloxone in Suboxone is generally not activated, as it is primarily included to deter misuse of the medication. This innovative combination aims to decrease the severity of withdrawal symptoms and lower a patient’s long-term dependence on opioids. By addressing both the physiological aspects of withdrawal and the potential for misuse, Suboxone plays a crucial role in the treatment of opioid addiction, offering individuals a safer path toward recovery.
